As part of the ongoing enhancements to our infrastructure and networks underpinning our API services, BitMEX is introducing a new websocket endpoint, ws.bitmex.com/realtime (ws.testnet.bitmex.com/realtime for Testnet), which is to become the recommended domain to subscribe to any BitMEX feeds. The corresponding multiplexing endpoint would be ws.bitmex.com/realtimemd (ws.testnet.bitmex.com/realtimemd for Testnet).
The websocket feeds behave the same in both domains and at this time we do not expect any breaking changes on the schema, data, and commands. Users are advised to start directing their websocket clients from the existing endpoint to the new one at their earliest convenience.
The existing endpoint, www.bitmex.com/realtime (testnet.bitmex.com/realtime for Testnet), will remain in service for approximately 3 months from now. However, note that by using it, you may experience an increase in latency and in the frequency of disconnections from 1st November 2021.
A further announcement will be made prior to retiring the existing websocket endpoint.
