Go big or go home. This year marks 8 years since BitMEX earned its name as the inventor of the 100x leverage perpetual swap.
So we’re upping our leverage game – and considerably so.
Why are we doing such a thing? Our 100x leverage was created to give every trader, regardless of their available capital, a chance to make big gains with crypto. Fast forward to today – Bitcoin prices are more than 500% higher, market volatility is significantly lower, and ETFs for BTC and ETH are a reality. Such a change in markets calls for different trading opportunities.
So we’re excited to introduce Leverage Booster on BitMEX, allowing you to trade with up to 250x leverage.
To be clear… This is for the bold and daring – those aiming for the Lambos and Ferraris. It’s not for everyone, and trading with leverage has risks (see here).
Keen to give it a shot? Read on.
If you haven’t signed up for a BitMEX account yet, we’re currently offering 5,000 USD worth of BMEX Tokens to new users – you can register here.

On 5 June 2024 at 08:00 UTC, we launched 200x leverage for users trading ETHUSD on Isolated Margin.
Ready to get started?
- Hover over your account profile icon on the top right corner of your trading UI.
- Go to ‘My Preferences’.
- Under ‘Trading’, click the checkbox next to ‘Leverage Booster’ (as shown below).
- With Leverage Booster activated, you will be able to select up to 250x for BTCUSD and 200x for ETHUSD on the leverage slider of your order form (see below).
Note: Leverage Booster is only available for Isolated Margin positions, so it will always be your choice whether to use higher leverage.
In addition, your Risk Limit will also be reduced for isolated positions to 10 BTC for BTCUSD and 5 BTC for ETHUSD, as long as you have elected to use Leverage Booster.
