100x Group provides $20,000 grant to develop the open source Pidgin chat program

100x Group is delighted to announce that it is providing a US$20,000 grant to Gary Kramlich to develop the open source instant messaging client Pidgin. The Pidgin program allows users to log in and use multiple chat networks simultaneously. Gary started working on the project in 2003, before taking over as the lead developer in 2016. Gary is also the secretary of Instant Messaging Freedom, an organisation which supports free and open source instant messaging software.

Gary is a former employee of 100x Group and we are delighted to financially support his work in open source software development, something we are very keen to champion.
